New Year’s Run | January 4

Lansdowne | Ottawa

Start the New Year off on the right foot by establishing or maintaining an active lifestyle. The start line and fast & flat race begin at Lansdowne Park and continues along the path beside Queen Elizabeth Drive towards the Dows Lake Pavillion and then back to Lansdowne Park for the 5k; 10k runners do this same route twice in a double loop style race.

Qaumma | January 15 – 17

Dance in the enduring bright colours of family amidst social fragmentation as they keep the fire burning for generations. Qaumma, the Inuktitut word for light, is a sculptural theatre production that recounts the inspiring journey of Inuit women who, despite the disruption of colonization, carve out their own legacies through language, strength, and culture.

Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring | January 18

Capital Sessions | January 19

National Arts Centre | 1 Elgin Street | Ottawa

Capital Sessions and the NAC are bringing you a series of free community house dance workshops. 

It’s family and beginner-friendly. The DJ plays deep soulful house music from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and the dancer leads two 30-minute workshops at 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. You can just dance, learn or listen and vibe out, it’s a beautiful space with amazing music.

Mountains on Stage | January 23
