Les Grands Feux du Casino Lac-Leamy | August 2nd – August 19th, 2023
Canadian Museum of History: 100 Laurier Street, Gatineau

Each summer, be dazzled by spectacular fireworks displays exploding in shimmering waterfalls and blooms of colour high above the Ottawa River, all set to thrilling musical scores. On Wednesday and Saturday evenings during the first three weeks of August, the Les Grands Feux du Casino Lac-Leamy (formerly known as the Casino Lac-Leamy Sound of Light) presents four hours of special entertainment at the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau, Québec. Enjoy pyromusical shows of international calibre, open flame culinary experiences, experiential paths, artistic creations and much more. The fireworks are launched from a platform in the majestic Ottawa River, directly below the museum.

Kristina Kuzmic’s Hope & Humor show is more than a comedy special. It’s an hour that will leave every viewer feeling less alone and more empowered to face whatever chaos life throws their way. Kristina, in her undeniably authentic way, takes us on a peaks and valley journey full of laughter and even a few tears, with a through-line of four things she’s done wearing: other people’s judgements, guilt, the pressure to be perfect and the unrealistic fantasy of what life should look like. Many have described her show as stand-up-comedy meets a great therapy session.

The Links At Lansdowne: Stadium Golf | August 10 – 13th, 2023
TD Place at Lansdowne: 1015 Bank Street

Golf inside The Stadium at TD Place. Nine platforms will be setup around the concourse area and seating area. Other golf games, food and beverage available as well!
Bring your own clubs (9 iron through a sand wedge, no bags) and your foursome to a series of staggered platforms around the stadium, with two shots per hole! There will be large targets on the turf to aim for; with options for birdie, par, and bogie, depending on how close you are to the pin. Once you’ve wrapped up your round, we welcome you to the 19th hole at the South Main concourse, which will have a bar, food, and the PGA’s FedEx Championship aired in real time!

Capital Pride | August 19-27th, 2023

During the third week of August every year, you can join in diverse celebrations of Ottawa’s LGBTQ+ community in parks, streets, clubs and other sites across the city. Highlights of Capital Pride include sporting events, a Rainbow Party, a family picnic and the always-popular Pride Parade. Choose from a dozen signature events and more than 50 community events—many of them free!
On Festival Weekend, the intersection of Bank Street and Somerset Street West, the centre of Ottawa’s Gay Village, becomes an entertainment hub with live music, a community fair and a beer garden.

Changing of the Guard 
Parliament Hill

Bring your camera to capture colourful photos of soldiers in scarlet uniforms and bearskin hats, as they carry out precise drills to the music of a military band on Parliament Hill. Daily from late June to late August, the impressive—and free—Changing of the Guard ceremony draws crowds to downtown Ottawa. If you arrive on the lawn of Parliament Hill by 9:45 a.m., you can hear an audio presentation in English and French that explains the symbolism, history and proceedings of the ceremony. Then listen—in the distance, you’ll hear soldiers and their band parading from the Cartier Square Drill Hall and along Elgin Street.

 

NCC Weekend Bikedays | Saturdays, Sundays & Holiday Mondays until October 8th

Every weekend from May to October, the NCC opens parkways in Ottawa exclusively for active use, morning and afternoon. Whether you’re biking, walking, running or skating, this program is for you!

Ottawa Titans Baseball Club | May 23rd– August 31st, 2023

Join fellow sports fans and catch professional baseball games from May to September in Canada’s capital at Ottawa Stadium, just east of downtown.
The Ottawa Titans Baseball Club plays in the Eastern Conference of the Frontier League, which includes 15 teams from Ontario, Québec, and the U.S. northeast. The team’s mascot, Cappy, is a family favourite.

 

Ottawa REDBLACKS | May 26th – September 30th , 2023

Join the roaring crowds at TD Place Stadium at Lansdowne as Ottawa’s Canadian Football League (CFL) team battles for a chance at the Grey Cup.
The city’s first football team launched in 1876 and, thanks to the Ottawa REDBLACKS, the sport is as popular as ever in Canada’s capital. Loyal fans regularly cheer for their favourite players on sunny summer days, on crisp fall afternoons and even through the occasional snow flurry (the team plays from June through November). When getting tickets, pick your side of the stands wisely (fans are staunchly north- or south-siders). Wherever you sit, visit the concessions for sustenance, and make friends with the REDBLACKS’ giant but lovable lumberjack mascot, Big Joe, who pays homage to the region’s storied logging heritage.

 

The Sound and Light Show on Parliament Hill | July 7th – September 4th , 2023 (Thursday to Monday)

Five nights a week in the summer months, you can enjoy a free, 30-minute multimedia show presented against the backdrop of the iconic Parliament Buildings in Canada’s capital. The Sound and Light Show on Parliament Hill – Northern Lights, takes you on an unforgettable audiovisual journey through Canada’s history. Colourful visuals are projected on the Centre Block’s Peace Tower, accompanied by an original score and stirring narration in English and French. The show presents inspiring Canadian stories that showcase the foundations of our nation, innovation, exploration, valour, and the pride and vision of a people. This annual tradition is presented on evenings from Thursdays through Mondays (weather dependent); show start times vary by month due to sunset times.
