Capital Music Awards | June 1st, 2023

The Capital Music Awards are supported, funded, and made possible by the City of Ottawa and RogersTV. The awards provide a platform to honour inductees towards an Ottawa Music Hall of Fame. Established in 2016, the Ottawa Music Industry Coalition (OMIC) is a member-based non-profit organization dedicated to making Ottawa a great place to play music, work in the music industry, and be a music fan. OMIC is committed to bringing together artists, music businesses, venues, festivals, and local businesses together to work towards common goals.

 

Blackburn Hamelet Fun Fair | June 1st– June 4th, 2023

The Tim Hortons Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival | June 22nd– 25th, 2023

Mooney’s Bay Park: Riverside Drive

ย Established in 1994, The Tim Hortons Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival is North Americaโ€™s largest dragon boat festival. The Festival, currently boasts 200 teams in competitive, corporate and community categories, and is one of the hottest sporting and entertainment events in the Nationโ€™s Capital. The three day celebration offers free admission to concerts, amusement attractions, sports demonstrations, a variety of artisans, exhibitors, delicious culinary treats, childrenโ€™s area and non-stop racing.

The 2023 regatta is a premier race on the North American dragon boat calendar and is a Dragon Boat Canada Race Series Event. Dragon Boat Canada (DBC) is the official governing body for the sport in Canada, and is recognized internationally by the International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF). Top teams competing in this DBC qualifier will be vying for a spot in the 14th IDBF Club Crew World Championships taking place in Ravenna, Italy in 2024. DBC teams will also go head to head in the Sue Holloway Cup, named after Olympic medalist and Canadian Sports Hall of Famer. With 8 DBC teams already registered, competition will continue to grow and be a highlight of the event.

Cirque Du Soleilโ€™s Corteo | June 28th-July 2nd, 2023

ย Corteo, Cirque du Soleilโ€™s most enchanting arena production, is back in North America and heading to Ottawa, set to charm audiences. This one-of-a-kind production, directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca, was performed for the first time in Montreal under the Big Top in April 2005. Since its creation, the show has dazzled over 10 million people in 20 countries on four continents.

 

The Lost Kingdom: Journey From Jurassic To Ice Age | June 28th– July 9th, 2023

Changing of the Guard | Dates TBA

Parliament Hill

ย Bring your camera to capture colourful photos of soldiers in scarlet uniforms and bearskin hats, as they carry out precise drills to the music of a military band on Parliament Hill.

Daily from late June to late August, the impressiveโ€”and freeโ€”Changing of the Guard ceremony draws crowds to downtown Ottawa. If you arrive on the lawn of Parliament Hill by 9:45 a.m., you can hear an audio presentation in English and French that explains the symbolism,ย historyย and proceedings of the ceremony. Then listenโ€”in the distance,ย youโ€™llย hear soldiers and their band parading from the Cartier Square Drill Hall and along Elgin Street.

 

NCCย  Weekend Bikedays | Saturdays, Sundays & Holiday Mondays until October 8th

Both westbound lanes of the Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway, from Vimy Place to Carling Avenue

Every weekend from May to October, the NCC opens parkways in Ottawa exclusively for active use, morning and afternoon. Whether youโ€™re biking, walking, running or skating, this program is for you!

These car-free roads are a great way to experience the beauty of Canadaโ€™s Capital Region in a fun, safe and environmentally friendly way.

Outdoor enthusiasts will be able to enjoy close to 20 kilometres of scenic parkways in the heart of Ottawa, that are open exclusively for active use. Whether youโ€™re biking, walking, running or skating, this program is for you!

Ottawa Titans Baseball Club | May 23rd– August 31st, 2023

Join fellow sports fans and catch professional baseball games from May to September in Canadaโ€™s capital at Ottawa Stadium, just east of downtown.

The Ottawa Titans Baseball Club plays in the Eastern Conference of the Frontier League, which includes 15 teams from Ontario, Quรฉbec, and the U.S. northeast. The teamโ€™s mascot, Cappy, is a family favourite.

 

Ottawa BlackJacks Professional Basketball Club | May 24th โ€“ July 27th , 2023

Catch professional basketball action and family-friendly entertainment in Canada’s capital! Don’t miss the fast breaks, big dunks and impressive blocks inside the Arena at TD Place at Lansdowne.

As members of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL), the Ottawa BlackJacks play against teams from across the country from May to August. Ottawa REDBLACKS | May 26th โ€“ September 30th , 2023

ย Join the roaring crowds at TD Place Stadium at Lansdowne as Ottawaโ€™s Canadian Football League (CFL) team battles for a chance at the Grey Cup.

The cityโ€™s first football team launched in 1876 and, thanks to the Ottawa REDBLACKS, the sport is as popular as ever in Canadaโ€™s capital. Loyal fans regularly cheer for their favourite players on sunny summer days, on crisp fall afternoons and even through the occasional snow flurry (the team plays from June through November). When getting tickets, pick your side of the stands wisely (fans are staunchly north- or south-siders). Wherever you sit, visit the concessions for sustenance, and make friends with the REDBLACKSโ€™ giant but lovable lumberjack mascot, Big Joe, who pays homage to the regionโ€™s storied logging heritage.
